K. Jo Wells obtained her BSc. Neuroscience and Mental Health in 2015 from Carleton University. During her degree, she researched the relationship between sleep and cognitive function in adolescents (spoiler alert – regular sleep is key!). After graduation, Jo spent 5 years in private industry developing medical devices; she worked on a range of projects from orthopedics to COVID-19 rapid detection technologies. In 2020, Jo joined the OHRI as a Clinical Research Coordinator; first in the department of Oncology, later moving to Gynecology 2021, and finally into Neuroscience in 2022. In her time off, Jo enjoys regenerative farming, off-grid camping, and researching the historical and therapeutic relevance of wild mushrooms.
