Hatching Ideas Lab Receives Funding for Cohort Study to Evaluate the Mental Health Burden of COVID-19
We are pleased to announce that our lab has received funding to conduct cohort study in Eastern Ontario of people who have tested positive and negative for COVID-19.
This will allow us to estimate of how much mental health burden is due to COVID-19 infection compared to that due to the socioeconomic changes associated with the pandemic.
The goals of this study are to answer the following questions:
Does being infected with COVID-19 result in an increase in mental disorders compared to those who tested negative?
Are there demographic, social and clinical predictors of these mental health outcomes?
What are the mental health outcomes for health care workers, who have tested positive or negative, at one year?
We are very thankful to our generous funders: the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Ontario Ministry of Health. To learn more about this study, click here.
